Priya Odedra is a visual artist specialising in interactive, mixed-media installations. Her interdisciplinary practice reframes scientific concepts by engaging the viewer in creative experimentation. She uses sensory technologies, organic materials, paint and participation to better understand the embodied human experience within different backdrops such as natural, clinical and futuristic settings. Priya's style is influenced by patterns in nature and magical realism.
Collaboration is integral to Priya's creative process. She has worked with scientists, healthcare professionals, artists, educators, patients and young people on a range of projects. Most recently, Priya collaborated with Dr Richard Colchester, a researcher at University College London, on a commission from Wellcome Trust (2021). She has extensive experience in planning and delivering public engagement programmes, campaigns and events for academic institutions, charities and non-profits.
